The original documents, that compose the collection of records, are stored in the Historical Departmental Archives of the La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime). They are organized in different types of records that hold the emigration passport requests from La Rochelle. They are stored under series "5 M" and under the call number 9/7. Each page usually contains one entry containing personal information about the individual applying to emigrate and some information about any other eventual accompanying individuals. This type of document has been sorted out according the information it contains and its format.
